Learning and Teaching Resources

If staff receive ILPs for students, they should consult each individual students about their requirements and make reasonable adjustments where necessary. Any changes to the ILP should be discussed with the DRC and the student.
Staff who work with students with disabilities will find that their practice of learning and teaching may change. Any good practice can be shared with colleagues. There are examples of good practice that staff may recognise and develop in these resources.
Disability Representatives in Schools may take issues or reports on good practice to School Learning & Teaching Committees or other relevant meetings. This will raise awareness and support colleagues.
Advice on positive communication strategies is given in the Resources section.
